Located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This photograph of Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was captured after the move to it's new location, approx 2,000 feet from it's original location. The move resulted in a 1,600 foot greater distance from the ocean, however the debate continues as to whether or not the move was necessary. The move did however have a positive impact on the region drawing additional tourism. That impact continues today, as do the comments about what a shame it is to have lost that view from the top! A circular pattern of foundation stones mark the spot of the original location.
