The Nansemond Hotel 1946
Ocean View Norfolk Virginia
Opened in Ocean View on June 23, 1928 overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. It had Spanish Style architecture and was designed by Bernard Spigel. During World War II the hotel was the official headquarters of the Commander of the Amphibious Force of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet. A fire destroyed the hotel in 1978.
