Waterspout On The Chesapeake Bay
8:24 PM, Thursday June 18, 2009. This waterspout was photographed from just west of Lynnhaven Inlet, in the Ocean Park area of Virginia Beach. Lasting only one minute and twelve seconds, it dropped from the sky, increased in size as it reached downward toward the Chesapeake Bay, whipping huge swirls of water below the base. Fortunatley it rose back into the sky before reaching the shore, as I really had no place to hide. The series is available for viewing at the studio.
